Unity in Diversity
There
is a wide range of international activities at
Mariagerfjord
Gymnasium. The school has a large number of contacts in
Europe, and
the USA, which have increased rapidly since 1991. The school participates
in various - often EU-funded projects with other schools in Europe, e.g.

The project “Unity in Diversity”
The future of Europe will mainly depend
on the success of forming a community in which the cultural
diversity can maintain a distinctive profile. However, at the same
time it is important to form a basis on which a European identity
can develop. This vision of a common identity can only be achieved
if common values are exchanged, aligned and agreed upon. The project
“Unity in Diversity” focuses on this task by asking decisive
questions that are the concern of the whole of Europe. It comprises
the discussion about the value of human life (genetic engineering),
how to deal with different cultures and their integration
(immigration). Furthermore, the aspect of changing family structures
(mobility, childcare, care for elderly people) is part of this
topic.
The issues mentioned above require a clear
statement of the future citizens of Europe on the basis of common values
and consequently on the basis of a common legal background.
